…and I’ve been busy!  It’s great to be posting here at :iconindustrialcomics: again after so long!

Lots to update you on.  First off, still married and extremely happy! :)

I’m still working with Scattered Comics and they are now producing my own original comic BORN which will be part of the Scattered Comics Universe!  Very excited!  I’ll be posting as much of it here as I can, so keep your eyes open for it!

So, a while back I started doing work for Scattered Comics as well as private and corporate commission stuff.  This was challenging work that made a huge difference in making ends meet.  The problem was that I wasn’t allowed to post any of it DevArt as I didn’t own any of the work. ^^; Also, drawing stuff for other people can be fun and challenging, buuuuuut when it’s stuff that you don’t find particularly interesting…

…so long story short, I was getting a bit burnt out on drawing.  Then one day, my wife was looking through some of my sketches and doodles and happened upon a couple NSFW sketches I had done.

Wife:  “Are you going to finish these?”

Me:  “Nah, those are just sketches.  Doesn’t fit the IndustrialComics brand.”

Wife: “Then open a new account and post it there."

Me: “I don’t know.  It’s embarrassing.  Besides, it’s not like I’ve got any comic ideas for it or anything.”

Wife: “I want to see you finish these drawings!”

So, yeah, I have second account here on DevArt.  A NSFW account.  With comics.  Lots of them.  Over two years worth. ^^;  Turns out once I got started, inspiration struck.  Big time.

Funny thing is, I thought I mentioned this here a loooooong time ago, but I’m looking through my earlier posts…and I don’t think it’s ever came up. ^^;

So…yeah, if you enjoy fun, silly, adult comics with a yuri/lesbian bondage theme, stop on by my other account :iconstereoscopecomics:  There’s lots to see.  I even have a Patreon now patreon.com/stereoscopecomics

Alright everyone, I have more stuff from BORN coming soon.  Thrilled to be working on it again!  Let’s get to work!

Yup, I'm still alive!   And I'll be at Sac Anime Con this weekend!  www.sacanime.com  I'll be tabled alongside other artists from Scattered Comics and will be carrying my full line of Industrial Comics books.  We'll be in the dealers room at tables C20, C22, and C24.

If you're in the neighborhood, feel free to stop by and say hi!

Sorry for the complete lack of posts.  It's weird considering that I'm on DevArt pretty much every single day, and that I've produced more work in the past 6 months then...well, ever.  But it's all industry work that I don't own the rights too, so I can't share it.  Sigh...

Okay, I'll dig through my daily warm ups to see if there's anything worth posting.  Sorry for being MIA everyone!

Thanks to everyone who answered the call!  I have a big pile of sketches I need to do now and will be in touch with everyone!

If you didn't get your commission request in on time, don't worry.  Commissions will be reopened once I've finished a few.

I had this nice busy summer planned.  Then this afternoon I learned that the big project I've been working on (the one that I've sacrificed other work for) has been canceled!  I'm getting paid for the small bit of work I did on it (thank goodness) but I was really counting on this project, as it accounts a good chunk of my income for the summer months. :( (Sad)

Now, I love living indoors, so I'm opening up commissions!  If you have an image in mind and are willing and able, please consider getting a commission from me.

Thanks everyone!

What I will do: OC’s and Fanart

Please note, my style is heavily manga influenced.

I have avoided selling my comics online for as long as I could.  I love making comics and sharing them with the world, but being an adult has finally caught up with me.  I’m a married man now with responsibilities.

I am doing more and more pro work.
I have a book coming out later this year with scatteredcomics and I’m doing commissions left and right (thanks everyone!).  This of course leaves less and less time for my own original work. :(

The only way I can dedicate enough time to create my original comics now is to put a price tag on them, which is a fact that I absolutely loathe.
I’ve no problem selling at cons, after all you’ve gotta pay for printing, the table, the room, etc., but this here is the internet!  The best stuff is supposed to be free!

Sigh…

So here's the plan: I will post all of my original work here; comics, previews, commissions, works in progress, original images, all of it.  But the comic pages will only remain in my gallery for a limited time.  A week or so.  Then it will only be available on Indy Planet or Lulu.  If you FAV it, it will remain in your FAV gallery, but it will be removed from my main gallery.

This is new territory I'm moving into, and I'm probably going to screw up along the way.  I apologize in advance.  We'll see what happens.  Thank you all for supporting me!  More coming soon!

...I'm a married man, I run my own business, yada yada yada.  The point is, comics are fun!  I love comics!  Reading them, writing them, drawing them, I love them!  Problem is, I have less time and fewer resources to dedicate to them.

As much as I love posting my comics here on DevArt for all to see and enjoy, I just can't afford to do so anymore.  It's become to costly both in time and money, and I just don't the resources to dedicate to it anymore.  The only way I can possibly continue to do so is if I were to suddenly start treating my hobby as a real business.

Which is what I've decided to do.

This will require certain changes and sacrifices, but I think we can make this work.  Several of my books are now available for purchase on Indy Planet.  You can get them in book form, or as a digital download for your iPod, Android, Kindle, etc.  Here's da link www.indyplanet.com/front/brand…

This means, sadly, I will be removing some of my content from DevArt.  Not all of it obviously.  If it is available for Purchase on Indy Planet, I will remove all but the first five pages of the comics, as a preview if you will.  I'll start doing this in the next few days, so enjoy them while you can.  The full Techgal comics will still be available to all of you as a webcomic over at the archive site: www.lafterhall.com/techgal_ind…  The main site techgal-industrial.com may be down for a while until it can start paying for itself.

So, that's the plan.  This does not mean I will stop posting here on DevArt.  Far from it.  In fact, if things begin to sell, I should be producing and sharing a lot more.  I have two comic book projects on my desk right now.  I will however only post the first five or so pages rather than full comic issues.

That's pretty much it.  I've loved sharing free comics with all of my friends.  Heck, I can't believe all the people I've had the opportunity to meet because of them.  It was a good run, but now I'm asking for help.  Buy comics, tell your friends and spread my IndyPlanet link around!  Thank you all!

And of course, look forward to more comics and stuff here on DevArt!

Hey everyone!  Can't believe how scarce I've been (especially considering the amount of drawing that I've done of late) but I wanted to throw out a couple updates:

My appearance at Chico-Con is on shaky ground due to a prior commitment, time and travel issues (as opposed to time travel issues. It's not that kinda problem, thank God!)

windraven and I are confirmed for Sac Anime Winter Con!  We'll be at the Scattered Comics Megabooth in the dealers room!

And finally, I was recently interviewed on Comics and Coffee.

That's me on the left. ;)

If you're in Sacramento this weekend, I will be at World's Best Comics signing comic books along with other members of the Scattered Comics Troupe! scatteredcomics.com/?p=3178 :eager:  I'll have copies of all my books with me as well, so if you've missed me at conventions in the past, this is your big chance to swing by and say hi!

In other news, my wedding day is getting closer and I am incredibly excited!  A tad impatient even.  Cannot wait to marry windraven

Sorry for the complete and utter lack of postings these past weeks...or is it months now?  And this was going to be my year to finish Techgal Vol. 2...ah well.  I'm getting married, and I'm working on scatteredcomics new book Comics vs. Manga www.facebook.com/groups/156285… it's all good.  I'll see if I can't post some line art and sketches here in the next day or so.  See ya soon!

Hey everyone!  I have missed you all!  Been very very very busy of late, what with moving, producing shows, and getting ready for the big wedding day!  It has led to a lot of changes in my life.  Most of them good, some of them...well, we'll call them, "challenging."

First, as you may have notice from my utter lack of posts, I have little or no time for drawing Techgal.  This is due mostly to the fact that...I am now one of the principal artists for scatteredcomics upcoming book Comics vs. Manga! You can find out more about the project over at www.facebook.com/groups/156285…  It's being colored by the very talented thetwigie Go check out her page and Fav her stuff!  It's great!

The other thing that is really keeping me busy is my magic business, which has just entered a higher energy level! :wow:  I hope you'll swing by my various Facebook pages www.facebook.com/TimothyJamesI… and www.facebook.com/BeforeYourEye…  Please like and follow me.  It means a lot to me and will give you information about upcoming shows.  Also, I am trying really hard to put together a tour for next year.  Any cities you want me to appear in?  It could happen!

I'm still sketching away at Techgal, but drawing-wise, Comics vs. Manga takes priority.  I'll be posting some sketches and line art here, along with the occasional Techgal page.  Keep watching!

...But I've got a new apartment with windraven so I'm not complaining.  I've had to sacrifice a lot of creative time to accommodate the move, but I'll be back to work soon, just as soon as there is room to work.  My desk and workspace still need to be set up as well, but we still have boxes to sort through first.  Fortunately, the kitchen is all set up and we now have the internet! :)

To celebrate the move, we've been re-watching Avatar: the last airbender on DVD.  I forgot how good this show was!  We've made it to Book 3: Fire, and we're having a lot of fun with it!  I've also been sketching out future pages of TECHGAL and a couple other fun things.  Hope to have the scanner, drawing table and tablet up and running before the week is done, so hopefully we'll be seeing a new page of TECHGAL next Monday! :eager:

It's for Science! www.facebook.com/TimothyJamesI…

Actually, it's for business.  Illusionist/magic business.  It's my Facebook business page, which I will be utilizing a lot!  If you are interested in finding out a bit more about what I do outside of comics, then it's definitely a great place to go.  I'm updating it regularly with info about my show, tour dates, and other interesting projects that I have going on.

In other news, the next page of Techgal is coming!  I swear!  But I'm moving to a new apartment this week, so it will be a bit hectic.  I'm going to try to get them up on Tuesday and Friday.  Wish me luck!

Just returned from Sac Anime Winter and I gotta say this has probably been my best convention experience to date!  Honestly, I can't remember having this much fun at a con.  I lucked into a great table space in the artist alley, had some cool neighbors, saw some epic art, got to meet up with lots of friends, made some new ones, and had windraven at my side every step of the way! <3

A complete bonus that took the convention to eleven; one of my all time favorite comic creators, svetlania was a special guest artist!  I am happy to report that she is not only a great artist and writer, but a genuinely nice person.  She was very friendly, down to earth, and awesome!  She even pulled off a totally legit Portal cosplay.

I gave her a Nightschool fanart print I did, along with a few of my books, and she gave me some autographed prints and and a fantastic sketch in my sketchbook!

I tried my best to not be a stalker, but she was such a joy to hang out with.  Hope to meet her again soon!

In other news, it is now 2014...I have some goals set for this year.  Big goals...goals you're gonna want to hear about...

More on that later this week.  Cheers!

As many of you have already noticed from my gallery post, Windraven windraven.deviantart.com and I are getting Married!

Now you understand why my posts suddenly came to a stop.  I've had my mind filled with plans and ideas for the proposal (which involved many ponies) along with other life altering details.  There are going to be a lot of changes to my life in the coming year, and I am incredibly excited!

Does this mean the end of TECHGAL, SELECT, and all the other crap I've posted over the past some odd (often very odd) years?  Heck no!  There will be lots more!  In fact, the main reason I haven't been posting has nothing to do with me getting engaged, but with the fact that business-wise, this is one of the busiest times of the year for me.  I have plenty of opportunities to sketch (which I have been doing) but not so much time to sit down and do clean line art, toning, and coloring.  Also, I am single-handedly rebuilding my business website and writing a new show, so that's also eaten into my art time. ^^;

I finally have some free time next week, so I will be posting... something.  Hopefully a couple of comic pages, but if I can't manage that, then I'll start posting a bunch of sketches...which may contain spoilers...and yuri.

So, I've been working on SELECT lately, mainly because I cannot for the life of me get the next page of TECHGAL to work for me.  ERRRRRRG!  I'll get it eventually, but for now, you'll have to put up with more SELECT mayhem. ;)

Lot's of conventions going on right now.  Sadly, I won't be attending until SacAnime at the end of August.  I've got something major brewing right now and I can't take the time out to do many conventions this year.  Don't worry, if all goes according to plan, I will be doing many conventions next year...many. :eager:

Hoping to swing by Fanime sometime this weekend to say hi to everyone.  Not sure when.  Hope I can make it.  Really miss the BAAU group and all my other con friends and fans.  Hope to see you all at SacAnime in August. :)

Store Link! www.techgal-industrial.com/sto…

Finally, at long last I quit dragging my feet and pulled the trigger!  Now you can buy the actual, physical TECHGAL book for your reading pleasure!  This is the first collection of the Techgal Web Comic!  Save time and bandwidth while enjoying the comic adventures anytime and anywhere you want!  You can actually kick back on the sofa and relax as Kristi and Derek battle evil in all its forms, be it conniving high schoolers, oppressive employers, globe spanning conspiracies, or the occasional giant robot.

Incase you missed it, here's the store link again! www.techgal-industrial.com/sto…

Right now I am only accepting paypal, but I hope to have the credit card machine up and running soon. :)

You may also have noticed that the website looks inhabited once again.  After a couple of months fiddling with Wordpress, I finally decided to dump the whole thing and move back to sitebuilder (which I actually know how to use).  This was part of the reason it took so long to get the store launched.

So, if you were looking for my table at Sac Anime and couldn't find me, now's your chance to buy the book.  Sorry I missed Sac Anime.  Looks like it was a lot of fun, but I had to work all weekend.  I did get my table for the Summer Convention though, so I'll see you all there.  I might also attend Fanime an a few Sac Cons as well.  Gotta check my Con Schedule.  More on that later.

In other news, the next page of Techgal will be posted this week (finally!) and I'm planning a kickstarter project that will hopefully free me up to work on the comic more!  Could you imagine, two, maybe even three comic postings a week?! :))

More to come soon!  Thank you everyone for your patience!

Whew!  What a whirlwind month this has been so far (and it's not even Christmas yet)!

Been extremely busy over here between tons of shows and trying to get the next volume of Techgal put together.  Bout 30 odd (very odd) pages in.  In addition, Windraven and I are having a wonderful time together, but we haven't seen too much of each other lately since we're both working (she aced all of her finals though.  I'm so proud!).

But with all the shenanagens and going's on, I suddenly realized I haven't been drawing anything accept Techgal.  In fact, looking back over the past year, it's been a few months since I've actually carried a sketch pad and pencil around with me.  Not good.  gotta get my creative juices going.  Use it or loose it.

Hope you're all enjoying Techgal.  More to come soon!  Happy Holidays!

Things have been running pretty smoothly lately, so I've decided to go out on a limb and start accepting commissions.  I know!  It's finally happening!  Took me long enough! ^^;

This has been in the planning stages for some time now.  Since this is my first time doing commissions, I'm gonna start slow with three slots and see if anyone is interested.

Single Character (with minimal background)
    $15 Sketch
    $25 Toned
    $40 Colored

Additional Characters
    $10.00 for each additional character

Format
8.5 x 11 and delivered as jpegs at 300dpi.  All work is penciled on paper and then toned or colored in Photoshop.

Content
I can draw both original characters as well as fanart.  If you are interested in Yaoi/Yuri, or anything of a more mature nature, feel free to note me a description and I will consider it.  No Hentai!

If you are interested in a commission, please NOTE me the following info:
1) Note title: Commission + your username
2) Your name and email address
3) A description of what kind of commission you'd like
4) Reference Picture/s (if available) and information about the character
5) Your paypal address so I'll know who you are ;) (Do not send money until after I have accepted your commission)

How it all works:
Once I've accepted a commission I ask that half of the overall cost be paid upfront via paypal.  I then send off a thumbnail sketch for approval.  Once approved, the remainder of the payment is made.  I then begin work on the final image.

Commissions are finished in the order in which payment is received.  Availability exists so long as I have slots open.

I reserve the right to accept or decline any request.

Do not send payment until I have accepted your request.  If a commission is denied and payment is sent regardless, I will refund it at the cost of a 5.00 (USD) returning fee.

You have 24 hrs from the time a payment has been received (I will notify you when this has occurred) to recall your commission.  Afterwards, commissions become non-refundable.

Commissions are intended for non-commercial purposes only.  Once payment has been made in full you may post the work wherever you like, but you may not claim the artwork as your own.  Please do not claim, sell, edit, or reproduce my drawings.

I reserve the right to use commissioned work in my portfolio, blogs, books, etc.  If the character is your own original creation, I will be sure to credit you.

By commissioning me, you have agreed to my terms.

Phew... That's pretty much it.  I look forward to working with you!
